​The fourth and fifth part of the series Schumann: Complete Symphonic Works with the WDR Sinfonieorchester under the direction of Heinz Holliger were recently reviewed by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) and put to the test. The audite productions did not have to shy a direct comparison with current Harmonia Mundi publications in any way, as Jan Brachmann says: "Here comes the human side to light, from which art gains its own urgency".

The video of the latest CD release with the PianoDuo Takahashi|Lehmann gives impressions from the recording session and interviews with the two musicians: The third audite recording of the duo presents transcriptions of pre-existing works as well as new compositions permeated with musical quotes and allusions. Drawing on musical history, existing works are approached in diverse ways, from using almost original material through to dissolving the classical concept of time and epochs.

​The next audite release with the Quartetto di Cremona presents the ensemble parallel to their top-class Beethoven edition with new repertoire: Saint-Saëns Piano Quintet with Andrea Lucchesini, one of the leading contemporary Italian pianists, in the rare version with double bass in the third movement, and his String Quartet No. 1.

​149 jurors from 32 specialist juries have chosen 275 productions (CDs, DVDs and audio books) from new releases of the last quarter and nominated them for the Quarterly Critics' Choice ("Bestenliste") 3/2016 of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK), which will be issued on August 11th.

Among these are also three audite productions:

R. Schumann: Complete Symphonic Works, Vol. VI was nominated in the category orchestral music,
Sergei Prokofiev: Works for Violin & Piano was chosen in the category chamber music and in the category historical recording Paul Kletzki conducts Brahms, Schubert & Beethoven.

The video gives impressions of the latest audite-recording session in the Abbey Muri with its four galleries: The monumental Mass of Georg Muffat and church sonatas by his contemporaries fit perfectly into this octagonal space. Four ensemble groups are placed on the galleries, the fifth group in the middle of the church on the ground floor. Thus the recording creates a vivid, spacial and authentic impression of the imposing sacred music heard at leading Catholic courts during the High Baroque. The Abbey Church of Muri with its four galleries and its historical Bossart organs proves to be a performance venue with perfect acoustics for these polychoral works.
