The Broadway cadence that closes Karg-Elert's "Macht hoch die Tür" or the burglar-alarm effect in his "Resonet in Laudibus" are as nothing compared with Guilmant's "Tochter Zion" and Lefebury-Wely's "Venite Adoremus".
Geffert also plays more conventional fare most persuasively, including three Bach Choral Preludes.
