"The Quartetto di Cremona is the ECHO Klassik Prizewinner in the Category Chamber Music Recording, 19th Century Music for Strings."
On October 29th the Quartetto di Cremona accepted the ECHO KLASSIK 2017 at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie from the hands of Thomas Gottschalk for the recording of Ludwig van Beethoven's Complete String Quartets, Vol VII.

​Two new CDs were introduced in one go by Franziska Pietsch, her Trio Lirico and pianist Detlev Eisinger on October 13th in Berlin: Prokofiev's Violin Concertos (DSO Berlin, Cristian Macelaru) and the String Trios and the Piano Quartet in A minor by Max Reger. The program of the Album Release Concert in the Maison de France included excerpts from the chamber music producion and - as a "representative" for Prokofievs Violin Concertos - his Violin Sonata No. 2. The audience of ca. 70 people followed the brilliant music performances and interviews with unabated interest up to the very end, and rewarded the artists and the presenter with long-lasting applause.

​157 jurors from 32 specialist juries have chosen 258 productions (CDs, DVDs and audio books) from new releases of the last quarter and nominated them for the Quarterly Critics' Choice ("Bestenliste") 4/2017 of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK), which will be issued on November 15th.

Among these are also two audite productions:

Dvořák: Cello Concerto & Klid - Bloch: Schelomo with Marc Coppey and the DSO Berlin under the baton of Kirill Karabits was nominated in the category "concerts", Complete works for String Trio by Milhaud and Martinu with the Jacques Thibaud String Trio was chosen in the category "chamber music".

Sep 30, 2017 | Wencke Wallbaum | News Quartetto di Cremona assumes 'Paganini-Quartett'

A unique and great privilege in a musician's life: after completing the Beethoven String Quartet cycle, which was honoured with a lot of notable awards - especially the ECHO KLASSIK -, the four musicians of the Quartetto di Cremona now assumes from the Nippon Music Foundation the so-called 'Paganini Quartet' - a set of two violins, a viola and a cello by the famous luthier Stradivari and once owned by virtuoso violinist Paganini.
So they join into the list of prestigious ensembles such as the Tokyo Quartet or the Hagen Quartet, which were also allowed to play these instruments on loan.

The recently released final production of the 8-part series of all Beethoven String Quartets with the Quartetto Cremona is no exception. This also holds the level of outstanding recordings and, like the previous parts, was awarded with a SUPERSONIC by the renowned trade magazine Pizzicato.

Sep 19, 2017 | Schweizer Klaviertrio – Swiss Piano Trio | Artists Concert tour in South America: Swiss Piano Trio & Zurich Chamber Orchestra

​From September 25 until October 7 the Swiss Piano Trio will be on tour together with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra. In 6 concerts in Lima, Quito, Cordoba, Rosario, Buenos Aires and San Juan, the Swiss Piano Trio will perform the famous Triple Concerto by Beethoven. Immediately after the tour, this concerto will be recorded as part of Volume V of the Complete Works for Piano Trio by Beethoven, performed by the Swiss Piano Trio.

​For the excellent technical treatment of Nelson Freire's historic archive recordings from the 1966 and 1986, which were made accessible to the public for the first time, our August release Nelson Freire plays Saint-Saëns, Grieg and Liszt was awarded in the current September issue of Steroplay as REMASTER OF THE MONTH.
