With the world premiere recording of Liszt's opera "Sardanapalo", which was premiered by DNT Weimar under the direction of Kirill Karabits, audite achieves a significant milestone. The first act of this incomplete opera, which existed only as a manuscript, had been dormant in the archives for 170 years until 2017 when it was deciphered, edited, and orchestrated by David Trippett. The opera was brought to its premiere performance, making it available to the public for the first time.
audite starts a collaboration with the Thüringer Bach Collegium, which has dedicated itself to reviving the works of composers who once worked at the Thuringian courts and residences. Through numerous subsequent productions, the partnership aims to bring these composers' music back to life.
audite now also uses social media promo and can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
A total of 11 audite productions was nominated for the International Music Awards 2019. Among them new releases with Kirill Karabits and the Staatskapelle Weimar, Marc Coppey/Peter Laul, Niek de Groot/Elina Vähälä, Ulrike Hofbauer/Thilo Hirsch and Christoph Schickedanz. In the field of historical releases productions from the LUCERNE FESTIVAL series (Furtwängler, Milstein/Markevitch/Ansermet) and from the RIAS archive (Ferenc Fricsy, Jorge Bolet Vol. I+II) were nominated.
