Among them is another audite release: the album Dora Pejačević: Complete Symphonic Works, in a recording by Annika Schlicht, Martina Filjak and the Staatskapelle Weimar under the baton of Ivan Repušić, was nominated in the category 'Orchestral Music'.

Ludger Vollmer: Violin Concerto & Transformations, including a newly commissioned work for Gernot Süßmuth, with the Staatskapelle Weimar conducted by Dominik Beykirch, has been awarded a SUPERSONIC by the Luxembourg trade magazine Pizzicato.

Reviewer Uwe Krusch writes: "Gernot Süßmuth [...] proves himself to be more than just a custodian of the works; he is a true interpreter who savors them. His playing, always characterized by clear articulation and flawless technique, reveals the multifaceted nature of the compositions through his detailed interpretations, while always keeping the overall context in mind."

We are very happy about this appreciation of expert music critics!

Apr 20, 2026 | Wencke Wallbaum | News April Release Selected for Audiophile CD Compilation

Our current April release, Beethoven: Early Works for Flute & Piano with Johannes Hustedt and Sontraud Speidel, has been awarded a KLANG TIPP by AUDIO+stereoplay and is included on the curated music compilation AUDIOphile Pearls, Vol. 40, which brings together audiophile reference recordings.

Reviewer Martin Mezger writes: "Hustedt's flute playing can shade wondrously, blaze powerfully into the stratosphere, and sketch fiery allegro flashes. Speidel's piano playing corresponds with both strength and grace: sensitive, yet never overly delicate."

We are delighted by this recognition from knowledgeable music critics!

Apr 14, 2026 | Wencke Wallbaum | News Brahms Prize 2026 for the Mandelring Quartet

We are delighted that the Mandelring Quartet, which has enjoyed a close and trusting collaboration with us for over 20 years, has been awarded this year's Brahms Prize.
The prize, endowed with €10,000, is among the most prestigious honours in the field of classical music, recognising outstanding artistic achievement as well as the preservation of Johannes Brahms's musical legacy.
The Mandelring Quartet, which has recorded not only the three string quartets but also all string quintets and sextets, as well as the Clarinet Quintet for audite, thus follows in the footsteps of such distinguished artists as Leonard Bernstein, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Sabine Meyer, Christoph Eschenbach, Herbert Blomstedt, Midori and Kent Nagano.

The official award ceremony will take place on 26 September 2026 at St Bartholomew's Church in Wesselburen.

We warmly congratulate the ensemble on this outstanding achievement and are proud of our long-standing and inspiring collaboration.

Jan 6, 2026 | Wencke Wallbaum | News | Artists | Release Lajos Rovatkay (1933–2026)

We have lost a great musician and long-standing collaborator.

With deep gratitude, we bid farewell to Lajos Rovatkay, who, as a pioneer of historical performance practice, brought his immense knowledge of the repertoire and tireless research to our label over many years.

He enriched our catalogue with a recording series of the almost forgotten Haydn predecessor Gregor Joseph Werner. How wonderful that he was able to hold the final CD of the series, which will be released in February, in his own hands.

Thank you for everything, Lajos!

Die Anfrage seines Freundes Gernot Süßmuth bei Ludger Vollmer, ihm ein Violinkonzert zu komponieren, führte zu dem Werk, dessen Melodiekern aus sechs Tönen dem Komponisten sozusagen zuflog.
